At the top of my board was the Princess Half Marathon.
Back in 2013 we had taken a family vacation to Walt Disney World and happened to be on the bus to Magic Kingdom when I saw all these women running. Later, I saw lots of women, of all shapes and sizes, walking around with Princess Half Marathon Medals around their necks. Right then I decided that one day I was going to do it too! So 2 days before my 40th birthday, I woke up at 2:15 am (yes, really, 2:15 AM!!) to get ready, board a bus and ride to Epcot. At 5:30 am the race started and we made our way towards the Magic Kingdom. The sun was rising, the monorail was passing overhead, and the crowds were lining the parking lot as we ran towards Cinderella's castle. We were guided into the back lot of the park where the cast members were cheering us on. As I turned the corner I realized we were at the beginning of Main Street with the castle up ahead- it gave me goosebumps. People were lined along Main Street, cheering everyone on- it was amazing! Right in front of the castle there are photographers and cast members taking pictures to capture the moment. At the end of Main Street, you turn right into Tomorrowland and run through to Fantasyland until you are at the back of Cinderella's castle (where Elsa, Anna, and Kristoff were hanging out that morning). Running through the Castle was the moment I had trained nine months for- and it was Magical!
Now...on to the next item on my Dream Board!!
